What is Hitman

Hitman is the latest in a series of stealth/assassination games, putting players in the shoes of the taciturn Agent 47. Players are sent on a number of missions around the globe to kill off unsympathetic targets, and are given free reign of the premises to take out their targets in novel ways.

If you've ever followed the saga of Hitman, you already know that the series was coming off somewhat of a slump. Absolution wasn't a bad game, but it didn't reach the lofty heights of Blood Money. For the newest release in the series, the developers went back to the well, and hard - Hitman is lean, mean, and contains only the hits. It's a game about assassination, and there's little else to it. You visit beautiful locations, you kill interesting people, and you get out. If you're a fan of the series, that's just about perfect.

Hitman was released episodically, and you certainly notice that if you play the game all at once. The story is a little disjointed, and each piece of the puzzle is a little shorter than you might like. It's a pure experience, though, and one that fans of the series will flock to in droves. If you want something with more of a story, though, you are in the wrong place. This iteration of Hitman focuses on the gameplay and atmosphere to the exclusion of almost everything else.

If you've ever enjoyed the creative mayhem of Hitman, this is a perfect game for you. If you're looking for something cerebral and challenging, this is a game you simply cannot miss. Hitman is a must-play for any fan of video games.
